“It’s no use crying over spilt milk,” applies to fitness too because it’s no use bemoaning your failure at achieving your fitness goals if are not self disciplined. To achieve your fitness goals or for that matter any life goals, self discipline is the foremost skill. But sadly, many a talented sportsman/sportswoman loses out to this seemingly hard but relatively easy skill.
Why is self discipline so difficult?
Old habits die hard they say and it is very true. Our human minds are tuned to slip back into destructive old habits far easily than accept new regime, diet and habits. These destructive habits keep you from achieving your best and reaching the pinnacle of success.
Self discipline is difficult because:
It is apt to quote Jesse Owens (four time Olympic gold medalist in track and field) at this juncture, ‘We all have dreams. In order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort."
The road is uphill no doubt, but you can do it. Imagine all the benefits that will flow your way once you learn to be self disciplined; you will transform into a healthier, fitter, good looking and an immensely positive person who can achieve anything you want with sky been the limit.
